Ingredients
3/4 cups butter (room temperature)
3/4 cups brown sugar (packed)
1/4 cup white sugar
1 Large egg (slightly beaten)
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups flour (plus 1 tablespoon)
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
Directions
Step 1 Cream the butter with brown sugar and white sugar for 3-4 minutes in a stand mixer.
Step 2 Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix until well combined.
Step 3 In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda. Slowly add to the wet mixture until well combined.
Step 4 Add the chocolate chips and hand mix using a wooden spoon. This will be a very dry dough so don't worry, you didn't mess up.
Step 5 Chill for 30 minutes to an hour or up to 24 hours. When you're ready to bake, preheat oven to 350°F.
Step 6 Press dough into a greased 8x8 baking pan. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until the outer edges are brown.
Step 7 Let cool 5 minutes then serve.
